The provenance data are inconclusive. It is not known when and from whom N. Beets art dealers purchased this engraving.
Opmerkingen:
On 12 April 1949, the SNK wrote to N. Beets that the art objects the latter had declared in the declaration forms were not eligible for restitution because Beets had stated that the sales had been voluntary. On the notification form for the C. Troost engravings, the SNK stamped: ''Vroeg. eigen. claimt niet' (former owner does not claim).Reconstruction origin history
